My name is Jon Zorn and I grew up in the beautiful country side of Monkton in Baltimore County, MD. Some of my earliest musical influences consist of James Taylor, Dave Matthews Band, Jackson Browne, Tracey Chapman, and Van Morrison.
At the age of 12, my mom gifted me with my first acoustic guitar that inspired me to start a local band with friends. In high school, I joined the jazz band which had significant influence on me as a musician. Throughout college, I played as a solo acoustic act at wineries, bars, and while studying abroad in Australia.
Post-college, I started playing consistently at more local venues where I began to refine my guitar/vocal skills and gain a following in the Baltimore area. I began to slowly expand my performances from just public venues to also private parties. This has given me the opportunity to further my career as a musician while I begin to record my first album.
Three cornerstones in my approach to making music are: you have to enjoy what you’re playing no matter whether it’s for 20 or 20,000 people; if something isn’t working, don’t be afraid to change it; and strive to always be creating something new and exciting to be played and heard.
